Recfishing Research has extended an invitation to all recreational fishers to apply for their bursary program to attend the 2019 National Recreational Fishing Conference.
Recfishing Research is aiming to send two representatives from each state in Australia to the Conference and all interested recreational fishers are invited to apply.
The bursary will cover the following:
- A half-day introductory workshop on the 9th of December so you can meet other bursary recipients and Recfishing Research committee members;
- Full access to Conference events including the gala dinner;
- Networking opportunities with leaders in the recreational fishing community;
- A half-day closing workshop on the 12th of December to share lessons learned and future plans;
- Travel to and from the Conference (including lay-overs that might be necessary)
- Accommodation for three nights (9th, 10th and 11th of December)
Bursary recipients will need to cover the following at their own expense:
- Personal meals not catered by the event
- Incidental costs (e.g. toiletries etc.)
- Travel costs not directly linked to the conference or workshops
- Any accommodation outside the above-stated dates or lay-overs

Your application must answer the following:
- Why you wish to attend this specific conference (max 1 paragraph);
- What you intend to do for the recreational fishing community once you return from the conference? (max 1 paragraph);
- A summary of your involvement in the recreational fishing community to date (max 1 paragraph)
Applicants will be selected based on:
- How well their goals/intentions match the conference theme
- The clarity of their plans/intentions once they return from the conference
- Their willingness to contribute to the recreational fishing community
